Who We Are

Founded in 2018, Peanuts Anchovies is a Sarawakian brand that specialises in crafting authentic and flavourful Nasi Lemak dishes. Our commitment to quality and taste has garnered a loyal customer base who appreciate our focus on delivering traditional Malaysian cuisine.

 

Our Signature Dishes

Peanuts Anchovies is best known for our signature Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah, which features a tantalising blend of 13 herbs and spices. This dish is loved for its rich and aromatic flavours, as well as our homemade sambal that balances sweetness and spiciness.

Another popular choice is our unique Nasi Lemak Buttermilk, which offers a creamy and decadent buttery sauce that sets it apart from traditional Nasi Lemak dishes. We cook our buttermilk sauce daily to retain the freshness and we recommend our customers to mix it with our sambal for a whole new layer of flavours.

Beyond Nasi Lemak

Located in Kuching and Miri, Sarawak, Peanuts Anchovies offers a diverse menu that extends beyond Nasi Lemak. Guests can enjoy options such as Kaya Butter Toast (Roti Kahwin), French Toast and a variety of local beverages like Teh Tarik and Teh C Peng Special making it an ideal spot for all-day dining.

How It Started

Peanuts Anchovies was founded by Nasi Lemak lovers who couldn’t find their favorite version of Nasi Lemak in eateries around Kuching. Motivated by the idea of sharing their favourite type of Nasi Lemak with the people of Kuching, they decided to open their own Nasi Lemak store. The recipes were inspired by Nasi Lemak eateries from Kuala Lumpur. While planning the menu, they wanted to blend the elements of a kopitiam and a café, to the traditional Nasi Lemak experience.

The sambal, which is paired with the Nasi Lemak sold today, is the result of months of research and recipe development. Additionally, the Ayam Berempah (Spiced Chicken) is meant to be a perfect complement to the Nasi Lemak, which is typically a favourite among Malaysians.

Milestones

How It All Began

In 2018, Peanuts Anchovies began its journey in a stall at Sin Chong Choon, Kuching. Despite its humble setup, this spot won hearts with its authentic taste and became a reminder that great flavours can start from the simplest places.

Expanded to CityOne Megamall

Peanuts Anchovies expanded to Cityone food court in 2019, reaching even more locals by offering its unique take on Nasi Lemak. It quickly became a go-to spot for those craving Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah and Nasi Lemak Buttermilk Chicken.

Peanuts Anchovies Jalan Tun Jugah

In 2022, Peanuts Anchovies elevated its journey to new heights by expanding to a standalone store at Jalan Tun Jugah. This move marked a significant milestone for Peanuts Anchovies, offering patrons a dedicated space to enjoy their Nasi Lemak experience, solidifying Peanuts Anchovies’ presence in the hearts of food enthusiasts.

Peanuts Anchovies Vivacity Megamall

In 2023, Peanuts Anchovies continued its expansion journey by establishing its second outlet at Vivacity Megamall, Kuching. This strategic move not only widened Peanuts Anchovies’ reach but also brought its distinctive blend of Malaysian cuisine, particularly nasi lemak, to the vibrant atmosphere of the mall.

Peanuts Anchovies Marina Square 2, Miri

Peanuts Anchovies achieved a major milestone in their expansion efforts by launching their first standalone outlet at Marina Square 2 in Miri in May 2024. This new location is strategically positioned to cater to customers in the northern region of Sarawak and nearby Brunei, serving up the brand’s famous Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah and other popular local favourites with easier accessibility.
