How It Started

Peanuts Anchovies was founded by Nasi Lemak lovers who couldn’t find their favorite version of Nasi Lemak in eateries around Kuching. Motivated by the idea of sharing their favourite type of Nasi Lemak with the people of Kuching, they decided to open their own Nasi Lemak store. The recipes were inspired by Nasi Lemak eateries from Kuala Lumpur. While planning the menu, they wanted to blend the elements of a kopitiam and a café, to the traditional Nasi Lemak experience. The sambal, which is paired with the Nasi Lemak sold today, is the result of months of research and recipe development. Additionally, the Ayam Berempah (Spiced Chicken) is meant to be a perfect complement to the Nasi Lemak, which is typically a favourite among Malaysians.
